The Induction cooker are fast gaining attention from people who wants to have a safer and more energy efficient alternative to their current flat top cooker top cooker or traditional gas stove. Through the use of the induction heating technology, this cooker can provide these things and can even improve the aesthetics of your kitchen without having to worry about those bulky cabinets to conceal your gas container of your old gas-powered cooker or the coils or heating material found on the electric-powered ones.
The induction cooker does not generate heat to be transferred to the cooking vessel like your pots or pans but does it differently. It simply makes the cooking vessel itself generate the heat necessary to cook the contents. How does this cooker do it? Let us look at the inner workings of this wonder cooker.
Then induction cooker element uses a powerful high-frequency electromagnet which serves as its cooking element found right under the ceramic surface. This generates electromagnetism through the use of sophisticated electronics that when a magnetic material such as your pot made with iron contents in it is placed on top of the ceramic covering which is known to be within the magnetic field, the system is activated. It then starts inducing the material with energy that will then cause the material or the pot to start heating up.
With this process, only the cooking vessel is induced to produce heat and everything else around it is now affected by it. Do note though that only cooking vessels with enough amount of iron or ferrous materials can be used for cooking in this cooker. Other materials commonly used for cooking such as copper, aluminum and Pyrex will not activate the electromagnetic technology thus could not be used on it. Although the technology to allow any other metals to be used for this cooker is currently being developed but can still take time to be fully available in the market. There are however induction discs that can be used for non-ferromagnetic materials to work on the cooker. You simply have to place them on top of the cooker first before the non-ferrous cooking vessel.
This technology allows the even heating and cooking of food as the vessel becomes the source of heat plus, this provides a more accurate temperature control with the ability to accommodate very low heating needs as opposed to the traditional ones. Furthermore, less heat gets wasted.
The technology used in the induction cooker plus its many benefits that combines safety and energy efficiency makes this cooking tool something to really think about. In fact, this may very well be the cooking technology of the future.
